I'm thirsty

CHECK that one off the list!

Hey, guess what? NYC is super busy and full of people.  NYC on a Saturday in the month of December is a whole new animal.  Have you ever seen the documentaries on Elephants during the warm season when the water dries up and they all stampede for miles and miles heading for the same little stream of water?  Then the camera pans out and all you see are thousands of elephants shoulder to shoulder for miles and miles, pushing and shoving to try to move just an inch closer to the water?  Yeah NYC on a Saturday in December is kind of like that.

Pictures? HA! There is no room or time to turn the camera on and aim, much less focus.  This is the lone picture of the husband and I (thanks Mom for being brave enough to stand still for more than 3 seconds!) The blur is minimal so I will take it.

  You see this tree?  It's the stream with the water. 

Eventually you just throw your camera in the air and wave it like you just don't care. 

And maybe you will get lucky and get a decent shot to share with all your bloggers! 

Xmas in NYC

I am taking a few short days off, but I have the ultimate Bloggers excuse! I'm going to New York City!

Wedding in 53 days

November 29th 2011 he asked me to Marry him.

January 21st 2012, in our home, I did.

I thought it was time to share some of my favorite moments with you.

I feel a panic as i post this "gift wish list" for myself.  I mean how do i stop adding items to this list?  I am literally anxious to hit the publish button because i just know as soon as I do something even more fantastic will appear for me to want. 

And then feeling that way makes me feel small and shallow, like a bad person who has completely lost the magic that is Christmas.  But just as quickly I remember that most likely if any of this is purchased it will be by me, with the money i busted my butt to earn.  Money that is left over because my bills are paid, my savings has been added too and my loved ones are taken care of. 

Then i realize the gift is that i am so very proud of myself. 

And i deserve it.

Getting to a point in life where you realize you are worth it is huge.  And if I'm going to stand proud in this part of my life then I deserve to look good doing it :)

It's time for me to brag about all of my Christmas Decor! 

Don't worry... i won't make you look at allllll my Christmas funnery (i made that word up but it just works right?)  Here is a highlight of some of "My Favorite Things" Yes, that would be a witty holiday inspired comment if I believed that "My Favorite Things" was a Christmas song but NO. Don't. Get. Me. Started. on that.  That is a beautiful Sound Of Music track, NOT a Christmas song.  Ok before I get off topic...

Do you have any Christmas Decor from your childhood that stands out?  These three angels embody Christmas from my childhood; Mom had them on prominent display every year and the beautiful fuchsia feather skirts would mesmerize me for hours.  It meant the world to me when Mom handed them down to me last year and now I make sure to have a special spot for them in my home (i.e. away from my lunatic cat and dog.)
