Nail Polish Swap

Last month I joined a nail polish swap over at The Dreamy Meadow and finally it's time to post my goods!

Nailpolish is such an easy and temporary way to change your look for very little cash.  I couldn't manage to steer myself away from an opportunity to exchange some fun in a bottle! 

I'm really digging all of these colors.  I have been waiting patiently for the weather to cool down so I could start painting with my dark shades.  So exciting to have three great new colors to try!

Studly

Studs are definitely on trend this year. 

I love the edginess they bring to an outfit and find the idea of pairing them up with an otherwise sweet look irresistible.  I do think that this look is definitely a trend though and one that will pass probably sooner rather than later. 

Such is the conundrum of fashion today. 

Instead of sitting here pouting in my plain old non spiky boots I decided to do some research and see if I could find some cheaper alternatives to these looks that will allow me to participate in the style without busting my budget. 

 I don't have spending guilt when i indulge in fast moving trends on the cheap!

I want to escalate my blog a bit. 

Hitting 100 followers was goal number one and now that I am there I am ready to bring it.
Fashion, lifestyle and humor are the three things I want my blog to focus on.  I want to start sharing outfit posts.  Outfit posts that are for the average girl.  Outfit posts where the reader can relate to me because my size, my budget, my life is like theirs. 

I want my followers to be able to use my blog to find benefit when they visit.  Deals, ideas, inspiration, even just a smile are what I want to give to you. 

I'm working on moving on up so I guess I just wanted to let you know.  Your following is what keeps me going.  I appreciate it.  I thank you.

There is so much to be Thankful for this day after Thanksgiving. 

My first hosting of Turkey Day went well with only a few speedbumps that we managed to navigate around (cough cough I'm talking about you clogged plumbing lines running from the kitchen sink to the laundry room.  The overlflow onto the flooring cleaned up quickly and dishes can be handwashed in the bathroom sinks until you can be snaked!) 

The spread was so tasty and thats the whole point, right!?  That and the family was together and fun was had by all. 

Audrey tried to convince me she was helping me clean out the oven but I know better, she was enjoying the drippings.  Sneaky dog almost became the Turkey.

I am one of those girls who only shops the sale racks.  If an item is full price I likely won't even see it as i breeze by towards the clearance section, unless i am armed with a coupon or discount code.  I get alot of joy scouring stores online, hunting for fashionable items at a great deal.  My husband loves this about me because it translates into big savings and i love this about me because it translates into more fashion loot.

Pre-Holiday Madness

I'm taking a quick break from the Sunday madness that is getting my house ready for 14 family members to spend Thanksgiving here on Thursday.  The whirlwind of the Holidays is in full effect.  Two hours clocked in at the grocery store this morning and 5 hours of cleaning/housework and counting.

We are doing some serious cleaning here.

Jersey Boys

Last night was date night!  The husband took me to The Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) to see the Broadway Series South production of Jersey Boys and man, it was FANTASTIC!  All about The Four Seasons, it takes place in the 1960's when Frankie Valli was king.  The 60's really captured so many great things between the music, dancing and of course, fashion.  Jersey Boys inspired me to create a post for you today showcasing now only how great the clothes were in the 1960's but also how much they still influence the fashion of today!  It's really eye opening to compare the looks then and now and see just how similar they are.
